| In
the Temple of My Own Being...
As an ordained person, each minister is committed to AIWP's credo that individuals find religion "in the temple of their own being." Whether an individual's personal beliefs are open-ended or traditionally structured, the pluralism of AIWP welcomes as members of its family all who embrace its credo. AIWP is one religious organization with a thirty-year history. We have over 1000 ordained members in service, each with her or his own local congregation. Ordained persons use titles consistent with their beliefs. These include such terms as Minister, Pastor, Rabbi, Sister, Brother, Facilitator, Advisor, Priestess, Abbot, Abbess, Bishop, Shaman, etc. It is our belief that "religion" is a personal experience, one that occurs at its most fundamental level as a sacred union between an individual and his or her conception of God or Divine Presence or Omnipotence.
We also feel that such "unions" lead to an evolutionary process, which has been given as a gift to the person, as well as to the human family. Congregation Leaders offer services and sponsored programs dealing with, but not limited to: the homeless, the abused, the physically challenged, the disenfranchised, those affected by racial and ethnic biases, sexist issues, homophobic issues, the terminally ill, persons who are spiritual seekers, persons suffering from illnesses such as AIDS, persons dealing with issues concerning age, and persons dealing with transition and emotional and psychological traumas.
